Jazz Standards - Beebop - Latin
Carmen started learning keys at seven years of age.
That's when his father, a skilled pianist, began teaching his son.
He continued learning from Annemarie Dittgen and Jennifer Knelman at Canada's Royal Conservatory of Music, achieving First Class Honours in practical and theory exams.
Additionally, Carmen placed in the top three performers in his category every year at the Mississauga and Brampton-Caledon Musical Festivals, including first place finishes in 1994 and 1995.
Furthermore, Carmen is a Dean's list honour student in piano performance and Jazz composition at Boston's Berklee school.
Finally, even though he's a young musician, he's booked as a regular at several establishments and, sometimes, plays with orchestral back-up.
He also performs with a thoroughly enjoyable quartet.
